TOURS IN BUENOS AIRES In first place I have to point out that I conduct walking tours so I may be biased. Yet I recognize that starting with an introductory tour either by bus or by car is a good idea. Don’t devote to this type of tours more than half a day since the traffic is usually jammed in Buenos Aires. I’ll skip a description of main attractions since they are mentioned in my home page and in hundreds of guide books. I don’t like any of the gaucho / estancias tours usually available for tourists. Yet it is difficult to organize tours to real gaucho festivals, those with a local audience. That is because they are only in week ends and always in a different city, sometimes very distant from Buenos Aires. Currently tourists are sharing with locals the best of the city. The only exception I can highlight is Northern Buenos Aires, Delta and Tigre. Those are places that we like to visit while tourists are not paying attention to them, they are places of “local tourism” Gaucho Retobado Updated: March 2007 |
