The tours described below are only suggestions, the possibilities are countless. Tours combine walking and public transportation because this is the way to go in Buenos Aires.
Prices for private tours:
two hour tours: USD 30
half day tours: USD 40
longer tours like Tigre Tour: USD 60
The quotes are for the group. So prices aren't per person. To this cost you'll have to add tariffs but public transportation is inexpensive (bus tickets cost USD 0.33)
Tours are conducted in English and in Spanish. Guides in other languages can be added for groups, ask in advance for availability.

Walks:
Plaza de Mayo (May Square):
Named after the May Revolution
of 1810, which took place in it becoming the first successful independence
revolution against Spain. In 1945 it saw the crowds backing Colonel Peron.
It was bombed 50 years ago in another revolution killing more than 300
people. The last crowd was in 1986, cheering Maradona, waiving the cup
from the balcony of Casa Rosada at his return after the Worlds. Tariffs:

Parks (Palermo):
Parks, mansions, many of which
are embassies, surround the replica of San Martin's home where he lived
during part of his exile in France. In this European style environment is
located the museum of Argentine Art, may be to emphasize the contrast.

The Docks (La Boca and Puerto Madero):
Guess why the people
of Buenos Aires are called porteños? No doubt you guessed, of
course, the city was for two centuries not much more than a port. Then for
the following two centuries the port continued marking the city. The port
of Buenos Aires was second only to New York as entrance for European
immigrants during the first half of XX century. Boca Port has longer
history, it was the reason for the existence of Buenos Aires, since this
the only natural shelter for ships on this side of Río de la Plata. Tariffs: USD

La City (Down Town):
The financial district shares the place
with old churches and interesting museums. Inside the old buildings it is
hard to remember the frantic crowd just outside. Tariffs: USD

Exploration days:
Farmland (or gaucho land):
The gaucho is an elusive
character, it is not possible to catch the spirit of the plains in a
crowded tour. Visiting a working ranch will open the plains to you.
In winter crisp air invites to action. In summer midday sun seems
overwhelming. Spring is sunny and windy, Autumn unpredictable. Wildlife, bird watching,
cattle, crops, horses, nature is a presence impossible to ignore. Lunch included. Travel from Buenos Aires not included
Rain forest (Tigre and Delta):
The fact that Buenos Aires is
the city between the port and the plains, make us forget that it is almost
touched by the rain forest. Not far from the skyscrapers we find the
Paraná delta. A small part of it is integrated in the Greater Buenos
Aires, the rest of it is almost unpopulated. It was very fashionable
during the first decades of XX century. Traces of this wealthy past are
abundant. Tariffs: USD 15.00
33 Orientales (San Isidro):
The best mansions are here,
gardens, elegant people, fashionable places. But the place had also a
heroic episode. It was the departing site for the expedition which crossed
the river by night to start the recovering of the territory then known as
Banda Oriental. After lunch we take a bus to make an afternoon walk in the
Tigre. Tariffs: USD 6.00
A walk costs US$ 10.00 for adult, children go free if accompanied. To
this cost you must add the tariffs indicated for each walk, which includes
bus fares and entrance fees. We'll pick you up from your hotel if it is not
located too far.
